About devout

Sh✧p small, sh✧p sustainable. Founded in Amsterdam, devout hand is an independent knitwear label by Elliyah Dyson from a love for slow fashion, handicraft, and everything somewhat kitsch and nostalgic.

My interest in crafting sprouted from a desire to spend less time looking at screens, to become more aware of my own consumption habits, and from a general appreciation of slow living. I started crocheting and knitting clothes for myself and friends during quarantine, and once I'd created too many items to wear, I created an online platform to sell my designs.

Since 2020, I've been building devout hand from the ground up; I taught myself how to write patterns, and, after creating a few designs that spread quick across the internet, things took up – I was able to quit my office job and start creating knitwear and crochet patterns fulltime. I’m forever grateful for everyone (YOU!) that helped me pursuit my dream!

My goal is to make crafting and slow fashion more accessible by creating unique, affordable and easy-to-follow crochet patterns. Simple explanations on how to make cute stuff – that's it.
